Comet C/2006 P1 McNaught,
20 January 2007, 0135 UT. About one hour after sunset. Canon 300D,
120 second exposure, 18mm FL, f/3.5, ISO 400. The head is well below the
horizon (below the Sun, in fact), but the these tail components extend
to an altitude of 30°. The surrounding glow is zodiacal light. Mouse
over the image for a constellation overlay. Special
processing was used to remove the effects of star trailing during the
