This
bright meteor was observed from the Denver area at 6:38 PM MST. Witnesses
reported seeing it to the northeast. It was recorded by the Cloudbait
camera just above the horizon (video,
71 KB). This camera was probably at least 150 miles from the meteor path.
It was also recorded by the Elizabeth High School camera (video,
92 KB). These two cameras show the meteor at the same azimuth, so triangulation
is impossible. An estimate based on altitude alone places this event in
the northeast corner of Colorado, or the southwest corner of Nebraska.
I am waiting for
results from other allsky cameras in the area.
